Bath And Body Works Haul :)

Hi everyone :)

Last Tuesday I went to Bath and Body Works to pick up some of the new Pocketbacs and I ended up getting a few other things as well. I could have gone totally crazy getting tons of things but I ended up just getting a few things.

I have their car air freshners- called ScentPoortable- for awhile now. And I just love it! What I love about it is the scent lasts a really long time. Most air freshners only about a week, this one lasts longer though.
Another great thing about them is that they are refillable. You can buy scent refills available in two packs in various scents. If for whatever reason you don't like the scent you originally bought you can buy whatever scent you would like.
Last summer I got a pink peace sign and I think it's very cute!
.
But I saw this turtle in the scent Island Colada and had to get it! How cute! It was $6 and their typical, plain white ScentPortable is $5

Next, they are releasing the scent called Carried Away in February and before they release them full size Bath and Body Works always has the small body mist and lotion you can purchase for $2 and $1. Normally, this size costs $5 for the body mist and $3.50 for the lotion so it is a great way to try out their new scents.

According to the Bath and Body Works website Carried Away is "a whimsical blend of lush raspberries, white jasmine and whipped vanilla inspired by the way love sweeps you off your feet" with "Top Notes: Italian Bergamot, Meyer Lemon, Mandarin, Juicy Pear Nectar, Lush Raspberries
Mid Notes: Purple Freesia, White Tuberose, White Jasmine, Soft Violet Petals
Base Notes: Creamy Sandalwood, Whipped Vanilla, Musk"

And I really do like this scent!

They recently released Pocketbacs in tropical scents and although I wanted all of them (Pomegranate Passion, Mango Margarita, and Citrus Crush, I only got Citrus Crush.

I also picked up 4 of the 5 Love Pocketbacs. Again, I wanted the 5th but I wanted to go with the 5 for $5. The fifth one was I Love You in the scent Sweet Pea. This scent is permanent, just the packaging is limited edition.
I picked out I Love Bling (scented in "Rock Candy"), I Love Shoes (scented in "Stylish Strawberry"), I Love Boys (scented in "Berry Crush"), and I Love Cake (scented in "Buttercream")

I also got suckered in to getting new holders for them. They had bright colored glitter ones and glow in the dark. I got a lime green glitter holder and a glow in the dark pink holder (and it works!).

And everything I got:

Thanks for reading! Anything here you'd like?

Allison

P.S. I just saw this video today! I really like it!

China Glaze Rich And Famous Nail of the Day!

Happy Monday!

Today's nail of the day is China Glaze Rich and Famous. It is a really pretty hot pink! It's not exactly a winter color, but well, pinks are great all year round.

I'm looking forward to getting more China Glaze colors! Super excited for China Glaze Anchors Away collection (I really want Ahoy!) and the Tronica collection.

Pictures shown include 2 days of wear.

What do you think of this color?

Love,
Allison

P.S. Coming up next is my complete OPI collection, maybe a drugstore haul, and I'll be working on my complete China Glaze collection if you'd like to see it!

Revlon Scented Nail Polish!

At Walgreens I saw a display of Revlon Scented When Dry nail polishes. I thought the concept was awesome, but I had some doubts on whether or not they would actually work.

I picked up two colors- Cotton Candy and Not So Blueberry.

Cotton Candy is a gorgeous pale pink with some gold shimmer in it. As you probably guessed it does smell like cotton candy. You start to smell it as soon it begins to dry (even before it's completely dry). One complaint that I had with this polish was that it took a while to dry. I also was trying to do a million things before that happened so I have several nicks in my nails. I applied three coats but you probably could get away with just two. The scent was very weak but still noticeable (if you intentionally tried to smell it). I applied a top coat and the weak scent was still noticeable.

Next up is Not So Blueberry. And overall, I am very happy with it! It seemed to dry a little bit faster than Cotton Candy and applied easier. The scent is much, much stronger! You can still smell it after the top coat which is great. It is more purple toned than the pictures show. This color also matched my handmade, crocheted ring that I bought at a local store so I wanted to show it off :)

Coming up I have my complete OPI collection to share you with you as well as another nail of the day featuring China Glaze.

I came across this Youtube video today called Everyone's Free To Wear Sunscreen. You just need to watch it! It gives some great words of wisdom and is very uplifting!

Have a great week everyone!

Allison

An Attempt At Nail Art!

Hey everyone!

Just a quick nail of the day where I tried some nail art.

I used Wet N Wild Craze in Shield. While the color is gorgeous, it chipped like crazy within 18 hours of putting on the polish even with a base and top coat. I applied more polish to the tips so I could try the nail art after first seeing sayanythingbrooke on Youtube do a tutorial on the tape manicure that Chloe's Nail came up with. She has amazing nail of the days and has a post that links the video tutorial that Brooke did as well as a blog showing it in pictures.

I cut a few of my tape strips too big but overall for a first try I really liked it. I am for sure doing this again with a nice chip free manicure soon!

So tell me, what do you think? It was actually fairly easy as far as nail art but I still need lots of practice.

Love,
Allison

Nail of the Day featuring OPI Jewel of India and Wet N Wild

Another nail of the day today!

Over winter break my took me to get a manicure. And I don't know about you but I always have such a hard time picking a color. I ended up choosing OPI Jewel of India and let me tell you- this color is gorgeous! I could not stop looking at my nails after I got them done! I do not own this polish so my nails are pictured over the book Eat Pray Love (the author goes to India in this book). This picture does not do the polish justice. Seriously, you have to check this color out!

Also, over break I did some major nail polish hauling. I got several Wet N Wild Colors that I thought would be great for layering over Jewel of India. Right before I changed nail polish colors I swatched them.

First up is Wet N Wild Fast Dry in Party of Five Glitters. The five glitters are a hexagonal silver, an aqua glitter (could be hexagonal too- smaller than the silver), magenta, green, and tiny red glitters. This color would be really pretty over a black too! And sorry for the bad lighting- it was a very overcast day.

Next is Wet N Wild Craze in Glitz. This appears to be mainly magenta glitter but when you look closely you can see gold and aqua glitter as well. I got this color after seeing ginabinawina show this color in her nail polish favorites video. From what I've heard Crazes are being discontinued so if you like this color you should get it ASAP.

The last color I layered over Jewel of India was Wet N Wild Fast Dry in Hannah Pinktana. It is a gorgeous combination but I could not photograph it very well.

I love Hannah Pinktana so I painted my nails using just this color. It is a sheer color so I used 3 coats. My picture does not do this color justice at all (stupid overcast days!) but trust me it's gorgeous. It has tons of glitter and shimmer to it. This color lasted just as long if not longer than my high end polishes on wear. It was pretty cloudy all the days I wore this but when I went out to dinner there were was a light over our table- and let me tell you the shimmer is GORGEOUS in the light!

I saw this color on a blog and knew I had to get. You can see Mary's post here. Her swatch is much more accurate. Basically, you really should look at it because I did not capture the sparkle at all.

Today, I found a new nail blog and she layered Hannah Pinktana over a black. See that here, plus see Party of Five Glitters over a black.

Hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Allison

Nail of the Day(s)

I have several nail of the days to catch up so I am going to do a few in one post and a few in the next posts as well.

First up is Zoya's Ivanka (Pictures above and below). This is a beautiful green with tons of shimmer and glitter to it. I think this is perfect for the holidays but would also be really fun on the toes during the summer.

Next up is OPI You Don't Know Jacques- pictured below- and excuse the messy manicure. I just love this color. It's a great neutral for all times of the year.

A great color for this time of the year is China Glaze Midnight Mission. This is a dark grey toned navy color with shimmer.

All these colors are gorgeous! Do you have any of them? If not, what do you think of them?

Allison

15 Random Facts Tag!

So I’m heading back to school tomorrow so I can start uploading pictures for nail of the days and such then but for now I thought I would do a tag. FunnyFace Beauty did this on her blog and I thought it would be a good idea.

1.I am an elementary education major and I am getting my middle school math endorsement in mathematics. Basically I have always known I wanted to be a teacher. I remember going through the “I want to be a dentist” stage but that didn’t last long. I used to play school and house all the time when I was little!

2. I love reading. I’ve always loved reading. When I was younger and we went to the mall, my dad let me and my sister buy one book at the bookstore. During my senior year of high school and the summer before college I worked at the local library. I was a page and let me tell you- I was always busy. I love the girly romance books as well as a slew of other books. I just finished the 3rd House of Night series book and I can’t wait to read the rest!

3. I am a nail polish addict! Like no other. Again, I’ve always liked nail polish but I’m not counting but I’d guess I bought 50ish bottles since this summer. Probably more.

4. My first job other than babysitting was at a water park. I applied for a cashier position but ended up working concessions. I cashiered, cooked, cleaned etc. That job drove me crazy at times but I worked there for two summers.

5. I have never broken a bone or had any major surgery. The two minor surgeries I have had done was getting tubes in my ears when I was 2 and getting my wisdom teeth out when I was 18.

6. I am obsessed with candles- especially from Candles By Victoria. Trust me, I think Victoria, the owner, knows this too. I have wayyyyy too many but I love it!

7. I have one older sister who is 22 and a stepbrother who just turned 16. I am very different from both of them. My sister has a 4 year old and doesn’t live at home but everyone notices how different we are. We look different from each other, act different etc. My stepbrother is obsessed with video games, comic books etc. He also have Asperger’s and ADHD.

8. I haven’t been to a legit concert in years. I went to NSync the summer before 5th grade and loved it! I’m dying to see Taylor Swift! And well tons of other people.

9. When I was younger I hated most country music. Now I love it! Country is so my favorite! I just finished a Blake Shelton song actually.

10. I love babies. So I know it’s random but it’s true. I love reading up on celebrity baby gossip and seeing their pictures! And baby clothes- ahhh so cute! I need someone I know to have a baby so I can play with him/her. My cousin’s son is 18 months and adorable but I don’t get to see him much. I will have kids someday but I’m 19 and young. I need to graduate college and get married first.

11. My favorite soda is Diet Coke. And I’m sure it’s terrible for you but it’s totally yummy. I was accidently given a Coke this summer and I just can’t drink it unless I’m really thirsty now. It’s too sweet.

12. I never used to be a procrastinator… and although I am not as bad as some I need to get better. I leave tomorrow later afternoon to go back to school and have yet to pack (or clean my room that has been a disaster since I came home before Christmas).

13. I really shoe shopping… but I am kinda cheap at the same time. I really need a good pair of black boots! And I can’t walk in heels well. But I get so happy when I buy a pair :)

14. I love Twitter. No joke. I’m on it constantly to see what all my favorite gurus and celebrities are up to. I also put my true feelings on there and will rant and stuff. I mean I won’t put “I’m so excited to go on my date tonight! I miss him!” on Facebook. I mean we aren’t a couple so that would be awkward and none of my friends or people I know in person follow me.

15. I have a hard time talking about myself. We had to write a mini autobiography for my Multicultural Issues in Education class and it so hard! And it was hard to think of 15 things for this tag. I guess I think my life is pretty average and/or I don’t know what people would think is interesting.

So to anyone who reads this, I tag you to do 15 Random Facts in the comments or on your blog.

Allison

Beauty Wish List for 2011

I was inspired by a post from Pammy Blogs Beauty to do a Beauty Wish List for this coming year. And it was pretty easy to come up with a list of things that I want. Most things on this list are things that I have been wanting for quite awhile now.

First up is Revlon Perplex. After seeing this talked about on countless blogs and youtube videos I've been dying to try it! It is a gorgeous color but I guess it's just the hype that makes me want it the most!

Next is a nail polish collection- I'm dying to try a few polishes from China Glaze's Anchors Away but also the Tronica collection

The thought of holographic nail polishes is really fun and there are certainly some great colors too!

Okay so there are all sorts of other nail polish collections that I'll "die" over but that it's for the beauty wish list!

Next, skincare items. Oh my, oh my- my skin just hasn't been liking me lately. Now I know that I'm luckier that a lot of people but skin is worse than it was in high school. I have tiny, tiny whiteheads on my cheeks and I tend to break out on my chin. I would love to try a new face wash- perhaps the Philosophy Purity Made Simple but I'm open for suggestions.

The next one is a bigger ticket item but from what I've head it's great and I think that it would improve my skin dramatically. It's a Clarisonic Mia! But a regular Clarisonic would be great as well.

And there are tons of makeup items that I would like. However, I'm pretty happy with what I have. The only thing I'm hoping for in 2011 is a holy grail under eye concealer. As a busy college student I really need one!

What I think would help me the most with improving my makeup skills is a good brush set. I have been wanting to try Sigma Brushes for quite some time now and the Complete Kit is right up my alley!

So tell me, what's on your beauty wish list this year?

Love,
Allison

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!

I am going to be posting my loves here (hence the name). I have a feeling that it will be mostly nail polish but who knows.

I left my cord for my camera at school (I know, I know) so I don't have a swatch of what's on my nails right now but you can view OPI's From A To Z-urich swatched http://www.alllacqueredup.com/2010/07/opi-swiss-collection-fall-2010-part-2-swatches-review.html here. I just love this color!

Enjoy your day everyone :)

Allison
